The Centre of Figurational Research – By Marta Gospodarczyk

In December 2022, a new unit dedicated to figurational research was established at the University of Warsaw. The inauguration of the Centre of Figurational Research, led by Marta Bucholc and affiliated with the Faculty of Sociology at the University of Warsaw, occurred very appropriately during the Fantasy-Reality Continuum… conference in Warsaw.

Since then, we have held several open seminars, during which established and beginning scholars present their work in connection with eliasian theory. The seminars are held either online, or at the University of Warsaw – however, we always provide an opportunity for online participation!

The presentations so far have covered a broad range of topics. We are looking forward to seeing you at future seminars – both as presenters and as audience members, and to the lively discussions that follow, especially thanks to the one person who has missed barely a seminar, Stephen Mennell.
