Renowned Dutch sociologist Dr. Abram de Swaan was celebrated with two prestigious awards in June in Casablanca. His bold book “Against Women” earned him the Women’s Choice Award, presented by Sophia Cherribi on behalf of Neha Alaoui (CEO of Women Choice). He also received the A.D. King Award for Justice in Journalism for his impactful columns in De Groene Amsterdammer on Suriname’s colonial history, presented by Dr. Babs Onabanjo.
Founder of one of Europe’s most successful graduate schools, Dr. de Swaan was honored by scholars for his unwavering dedication to truth and justice. The accolades coincide with the Amsterdam premiere of a new documentary on his life, soon streaming via the Norbert Elias Foundation.
